All procedures are performed with the most modern equipment, including the dental operating microscope which uses high magnification, and Cone Beam Computer Tomography, or CBCT, a 3D imaging system that allows us to see hidden complexities of teeth.

Cracked Tooth

Cracked teeth are common, and cause problems for people in a few different ways. Firstly, the pieces of the tooth may move slightly, irritating the pulp, or the nerve of the tooth. If the tooth is not treated with root canal right away, the crack may allow bacteria to leak into the tooth, causing an infection.

Root canal therapy

In the center of all teeth, there is a space that contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue; This is called the pulp, and root canal therapy, or a root canal, is the process of removing this inflamed or infected tissue, sterilizing the space that remains, and filling the space with gutta percha: a biologically inert, rubber material.

Root Canal Retreatment

Occasionally, a tooth that already had root canal treatment in the past may not heal as expected. This can occur for any number of reasons, but most frequently

Traumatic Dental
Injuries

Dr. Hochberg trained under a founding member of the International Association of Dental Traumatology while at NYU. These injuries require careful examination and treatment, and may occur as a result of a sports injury, auto accident, or a simple fall.

Apicoectomy
(Root canal surgery)

If a tooth has already had a root canal performed, a small, in-office surgery may sometimes be recommended as a means of treating the infection.

Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Scanner Services

We are pleased to offer use of our in-office CBCT machine to other professionals who may request a scan, without needing root canal treatment. This is most commonly done in dental implant treatment planning. Please call today if your doctor has recommended one and referred you to us.
